Two Roads Brewing is throwing their own take on an Oktoberfest party… complete with stein hoisting competition and all!!
Followed by a performance by the Ruckus Juice Jug Stompers at 8pm!
Born out of ruckus-raising performances at a Rochester open jam, the Ruckus Juice Jug Stompers are paying homage to the greats that came before them — and they‘re doing it in their own way.
The band’s name is inspired by old-time blues-based jug band music of the 1920’s and 1930’s, including Gus Cannon & His Jug Stompers, the song “Ruckus Juice and Chitlins” both by the Memphis Jug Band. They pronounce “ruckus” as “RUE-cuss,” just like you’d hear on the recordings of the 1920s.
In a live setting, the Stompers entertains with a repertoire of originals and old jug band songs. They’re a sight to be seen and a show to be experienced, featuring a combination of traditional and homemade instruments. You’ll laugh along, sing along and stomp along and you may even find yourself taking a kazoo solo along with the band.
