ONE NIGHT ONLY ON THE INTIMATE STAGE AT LOVIN’ CUP!
A special “home for the holidays” show!
Hannah Walpole’s warm, alluring tone makes her stand out as a rising jazz talent. Her repertoire mixes traditional jazz standards with Latin jazz styles, with influences such as Julie London, Billie Holiday, Antônio Carlos Jobim, and Stacey Kent.
Born in Seattle, Hannah grew up in Rochester where she began appearing in local musical theatre productions at the age of five. She studied with voice and acting coach Cara D’Emanuele from 2007 through 2012. In 2013, the Michael Feinstein Great American Songbook High School Competition chose Hannah as a regional finalist and invited her to perform in New York City. In the competition, Hannah had the opportunity to work with jazz and blues vocalist Catherine Russell.
Hannah is currently pursuing her degree in Vocal Jazz Performance at the prestigious Frost School of Music at the University of Miami under the direction of Dr. Kate Reid. Here she studies jazz voice and technique with Dr. Rachel Lebon. Hannah was a member of Frost’s Jazz Vocal II Ensemble, which won the the 2015 DownBeat Student Music Award for best undergraduate small vocal jazz group. Hannah also studies with accomplished guitarist, composer, and vocalist Dawn Thomson.
