9pm – The Roc-City Ramblers
The Roc-City Ramblers are a four-piece progressive bluegrass band out of Rochester, NY. Featuring claw-hammer banjo, flat-picking acoustic guitar, fiddle and upright bass all held together by a ‘train beat’ on the snare, they take influence from all sorts of American Folk Music with emphasis on old-time, classic-style country, newgrass, and jugband music. Expect everything from ballads about traveling to re-envisioned rock songs to breakneck fiddle tunes! Their sound can be compared to that of Old Crow Medicine Show, Punch Brothers and Yonder Mountain String Band.
11pm – FolkFaces
Folkfaces are a Buffalo-based Americana & Roots quintet. A blend of jug-band, folk, punk, trash-grass, blues rockabilly and more. Taking inspiration from the mountains of Appalachia to the deltas of Mississippi to the swamps of Louisiana to the Concrete Jungle of the Rustbelt. All together they blend folk music, punk, blues and hot jass with present issues to make old-timey tunes that’ll wake the dead. Their music is a combination of early 20th century hokum, jugband style and original foot-stomping good times. Specializing in merriment and sticking it to the system (with a combination of rowdy folk music and equal-opportunity roasting), Folkfaces make the crowd dance, and the hierarchy shatter.
